Monte Vista High School, Danville CA - Learning Outreach Club

Ariya Ghoshal
Co-Founder & president

Hi! My name is Ariya Ghoshal and I am a junior at Monte Vista High school.  I have been part of the Learning Outreach club since my Freshman year and Co-Founded the club with my sister, Amaya Ghoshal. Growing up in Danville, I have been fortunate to have access to unlimited educational resources and have benefited from an excellent school system. Most of this access is due to my family’s socioeconomic status. Unfortunately, those that are economically disadvantaged simply don’t have this access to educational resources. I am passionate about better understanding the socioeconomic disparities both locally and globally. In the past few years, I’ve helped fund and tutor economically disadvantaged students in order to bridge the learning gap and give the students more options for their future. Being part of this club has shifted my perspective entirely by allowing me to see just how privilege correlates to better opportunities and greater future economic prosperity.

Hi, I'm Daphne and I'm a senior at Monte Vista. I have been a part of Learning Outreach for 3 years and I am excited to serve as the Vice President this year! In my free time, I enjoy playing jazz guitar, baking healthy desserts, reading, and going on day trips with my family and our shih tzu, Emmie. I also tutor subjects such as math, reading, writing, and science, and I volunteer for organizations like the American Red Cross and Health Occupations of America (HOSA). My goal is to get more involved in the local community, whether it is by collecting supplies for elementary schools, awarding scholarships to disadvantaged students, or providing free academic support to kids of all ages. I'm looking forward to a great year with Learning Outreach!
