Testimonials Verde Elementary School in Richmond, CA- 1st grade teacher - December 2020 “I've purchased the books for about half the class so far and they will be there by Christmas! Some of the titles include: Bedtime Stories for Rebel Girls, The ABCs of Black History, My Papi Has a Motorcycle, How to Catch a Mermaid, Masked Ninja, Pirate Stew, The Wonky Donkey, The Gruffalo, and The Magic Tree House. Thank you again, the kids are so excited!”
Verde Elementary School in Richmond, CA- 6th grade teacher - May 2020 "I wanted to thank you again--these books have brought so much joy to my class! Today, I assigned my students a google form to write yearbook comments for their classmates. One student was so excited about receiving his book, that he wrote "Thank you for the book!" and "I'm so happy" in every box, instead of comments to his classmates! Your hard work has made a difference for my students, and for me as their teacher. Having engaging reading material is the MOST important thing in keeping kids' reading on track, so a million thank yous for all of your work in making this possible!"
Homeless Shelter, Contra Costa County - 8th grader - May 2019 "Nick’s latest progress report card: he’s turned D’s and F’s into B-‘s and a C. Amaya (and Learning Outreach) definitely shares the credit for that."
Koinonia Education Center - Bongo, Kudu and Addax class - June 2019 "Thank you Learning Outreach for coming all the way from CA USA to Kenya. You spent your time with us and it was so fun learning about telling time and fractions with the learning material you brought for us."
Salama Gachie Community Center - Nairobi, Kenya - June 2019 "The schools will benefit tremendously from the essential supplies that you brought here. Thank you for your time volunteering to teach us how to use base ten blocks, use whiteboards, and learn fractions. Thank you so much."
About the Founder Hi, my name is Amaya Ghoshal and I founded Learning Outreach in 2018. I started Learning Outreach because I wanted to do my part in helping close the educational gap. Having been an active tutor during my high school years, exposed me to the impact that lack of resources can have one ones ability to progress in school. I am excited that the Learning Outreach is continuing to grow.
